New Orleans Deployment
(In the Bayou)
January 3rd - 7th, 2022

In Response to Hurricane Ida

Our Calvary Relief Team served in the greater New Orleans area from January 3rd through 7th ministering to those affected by Hurricane Ida that ravaged through there at the end of August.  There was still so much devastation and many shattered lives - we are very thankful we could be there to share the hope and love only found in Jesus.

Our  team worked hard each day doing 'mud-outs' and removing debris from back yards.  We served in the Bayou area where many homes were completely flooded and thick mud had covered all the streets and yards. Quite a mess!

At the end of each job, homeowners were presented the Bible and many were in tears thanking us.  A woman who had lost her husband to Covid recently and was having a difficult time accepted Jesus into her heart and started a new beginning -  so very thankful not only for how we had helped her but for a new beginning in her spiritual life.

We also had a chance to share God's love with this wonderful elderly couple (88 & 85 yrs old) who had lived in their home for 68 years and also share with their neighbor whose place was destroyed and was re-building the whole thing himself.

Amazingly, there have been several divine encounters where those we met either knew someone we know or grew up in the same area of some of our team.  Right away there was a connection.

The last homeowner we ministered to was a joy - the entire downstairs of his beautiful river-front house had to be gutted.  As we broke down walls and teared up floors, the chaplains visited him and led him to the Lord.  The next morning he told us he had had the best night's sleep which he hadn't had in years.  He was optimistic about starting a whole new life!  He couldn't thank us enough
