Highland Falls, NY
July 23rd - 29th, 2023

On July 9th & 10th, Highland Falls, NY experienced a "1-in-1,000-year weather event"! More than 8 inches of rain fell in just hours leaving significant damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure and at least one person was killed in the storm.

Our Calvary Relief team deployed to Highland Falls from July 23rd - 29th and one of our chaplains deployed the following week. Flash flooding hit this town hard causing streets and steams to turn into roaring rivers.  Sadly, one person lost her life.   As quickly as we could complete the jobs, more and more requests for help came in.

It was amazing as usual how God used us.  Eight (8) people received the Lord (including a 93 year old woman) while we were there and seven (7) others the week before!  Although many lives are disrupted by these disasters, God uses them to draw people to Him and we get to share in His plan (Romans 8:28).  The people of Highland Falls were sooo very appreciative - many in the community stopped what they were doing to come say "Thank You!".

It's always an amazing blessing to be a part of God's team working with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ sharing the love of Jesus with those who desperately need Him.  Thanking and praising God for these opportunities.

Each time we deploy, we do not know what God has in store for us.  We do know He has a plan and come away excited to see the many ways He uses us and grows our faith.

"We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps" Proverbs 16:9
