Brazoria County, TX
July 29th - Aug. 3rd, 2024

On July 8th, Hurricane Beryl made landfall along the Texas coast. Much of eastern Texas was inundated with "life-threatening storm surge," torrential rain & powerful wind gusts up to 97 mph prompting water rescues, leaving more than a million people without power and causing at least one death.
Our Calvary Relief team served in Brazoria County, TX on July 29th through August 3rd - another great trip!!! Hurricane Beryl plowed through TX on July 8th as 120+ mph winds left people without power, trees downed, roofs ripped off & people struggling. It was very hot (100 degrees each day) with giant mosquitoes, but all worth it!!! God is so good!! He brings us all together to help & reach them with His hope - 12 salvations that week & 24 since Samaritan’s Purse got here 3 weeks before. What a blessing to be part of God's team!
After completing each job, we present a Bible to the homeowner. One lady was so happy she jumped up and down and held the Bible close to her heart exclaiming how thankful she was that we were there and now she had a new 'red-letter' Bible with Jesus' words clearly speaking to her. At another place, this lady told us she was searching for a deeper relationship with God - we shared the Gospel & she asked Jesus into her life that day. Praise God! After talking & praying with another lady, she sincerely told us "I needed you here today". We were so happy God had brought us to her that day
Each trip we see God move in so many ways and know He brought us there. We step out in faith not knowing what the week has in store and then God shows us!! We each come home blessed, not only from serving people in need, but also with a deep, meaningful relationship with our brothers and sisters in Christ that came from all over the country to serve God. The love we share is hard to explain - definitely of God
