Lake Charles, LA Deployment
Our Calvary Relief team was in Lake Charles, LA from Nov. 1st thru 6th, 2020 where they were involved in removing downed trees, cutting out ruined sheetrock and insulation, tarping roofs, praying with people etc. There was such a shortage of workers and over 2000 work orders from desperate people. Everyone, those with varied levels of relief work experience and those with no experience at all, were needed and put to work. It was such a blessing to be there!!! In the midst of so much destruction and devastation, we saw God work powerfully in many lives. It's so hard to put into words all that happened - just have to be there to experience it. Praising & thanking God for how He used us there!
Many of the people there are not only dealing with 2 major hurricanes that have destroyed their homes, but also many other personal problems as well. It was a blessing to be used by God to share His hope and love. We met this woman who was depressed and more than overwhelmed with everything - but once introduced to Jesus, we saw her transformed before our eyes to be joyful, praising the Lord and thanking Jesus - what a miracle! God truly works miracles.
We had a team of seven from our Calvary Relief Disaster Response ministry attend this time and what a great time of fellowship and growing in the Lord. It brought us all closer together, and more importantly, closer to the Lord. Hopefully many of you can be part of this awesome ministry in the future.
