Our Calvary Relief team of 8 redeployed to Fort Myers, FL from January 22nd - 28th. Once again, God moved powerfully in the lives of so many and in our lives. We are so thankful for these opportunities to serve.
In Ft. Myers, there was still so much devastation and destruction there from Hurricane Ian that hit in Sept. 2022. We served mainly doing 'mud-outs' (clearing homes of contents, taking out walls, floors & ceilings so the homeowner could rebuild). But what was most important was being there for them, letting them know they were not forgotten, and showing them that God still cares about them.

We met this elderly woman walking down the street - she was depressed & standoffish. We asked to pray with her and then shared about Jesus - she asked Him into her heart that day right in the street. The next day she came walking by again and told us she "was happy now". The next day she came looking for us again and prayed with us. The last day, we went looking for her to let her know we were leaving - she cried and wanted us to stay. She gave us a big hug and introduced us to her husband. It's amazing how you can become so close to someone in just a few days when the love of Christ is shared.
