On Tues., Aug. 8, 2023, dry conditions on Maul prompted fires which turned catastrophic on Wed., Aug. 9, as winds of Cat 4 Hurricane Dora swept it into an inferno. Lahaina, home to more than 13,000 people was leveled.

Our Calvary Relief team deployed back to Maui December 6th through 13th to help those affected by the fires that wiped out Lahania. The devastation was overwhelming, but the response of those we served was heartwarming. We met with homeowners who lost both their business and homes and sifted through the ashes with them to salvage whatever they could. At the end of the day, although we were all hot, sweaty and tired, we felt like family and their smiles and hugs were all worth it. God works through these disasters to unite brothers and sisters in Christ and draw those that don't know Him into the family of God. (96 salvations since Samaritan's Purse set up in Maui a couple months ago). It is such a blessing to be a part of it.
We once again served with Samaritan's Purse and Billy Graham Rapid Response Team which are always such an encouragement to us. Together we serve the Lord, have devotions, pray together, laugh and cry together. The bonds of friendship are strong and meaningful.
This was our 11th deployment this year and every one was such an amazing blessing! Thanks to all of you who have served with us this year Hopefully many more will join us next year as well. And THANK YOU to all who have supported us in prayer and financially.
