Livingston, Texas
June 15th - 19th, 2024
On Monday, May 6, 2024, as flood waters began to recede after days of torrential rain fall, historic flash flooding occurred causing massive damage to the infrastructure and hundreds of homes.
Our Calvary Relief team ministered in Livingston, TX June 15th through 19th helping people affected by flash flooding that devastated the area after about 27" of rain fell and the dam was released. Once again, we saw God move powerfully in so many ways. Our team helped 'mud-out' several homes, cleaning out where flood waters of up to 10 feet swamped people's homes.

"Here am I. Send me!" Isaiah 6:8

Each person we met was overjoyed (some to tears) when we finished and presented them with a special Bible. One lady wasn't able to be there, so we presented it to her husband - when he showed it to her later, this was her response to us was:
"I don't have words to express my gratitude for all the help you and Samaritan's Purse has provided for us. You and your group have given us hope. We felt alone and forgotten. I prayed and asked for God to send us help. And then the phone started ringing. My husband and I are truly moved by your selfless actions. In the flood, I lost my grandma's and mom's Bibles. Your gift is such a blessing and much needed. I am so encouraged after seeing such destruction that God will provide. He provided you and your organization."
It's amazing how God gives us a special connection with these people in just the short time we were there! One woman didn't really understand what it meant to be 'saved' - in talking with her and sharing the 'Steps to Peace with God' booklet, she came to truly understand and said the prayer of salvation. Since Samaritan's Purse deployed there at the beginning of May, 26 have accepted Jesus into their lives. It is truly a blessing to be part of God's team going to places like this, being used by Him in answer to prayers and showing them His love in their time of need.
