Deploying to Avoyelles Parish, LA
June 29th - July 3rd, 2026

What began as heavy rain from Tropical Storm Arthur turned into a state of emergency across Avoyelles Parish, where floodwaters inundated hundreds of homes, forced evacuations and prompted widespread rescue efforts. Lifetime residents say they have never witnessed flooding of this magnitude.

​​​​​Our Calvary Relief team will be deploying to Avoyelles Parish, LA June 29th through July 3rd, 2026 serving with Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team to help the people affected severe flooding and share hope and love of Jesus Christ. â€‹

Project Description: Volunteers will assist homeowners affected by recent flooding and will help in Jesus' Name with content recovery, debris cleanup, and mudout. No skills are necessary prior to serving. Volunteers will be led and instructed by experienced team leads.

Hessmer Baptist Church,

2927 Main Street, Hessmer, LA 71341

Additional Information:  Meals & sleeping quarters are provided. You will need to bring a twin-size air mattress or cot, linens, pillow, towels and personal hygiene items. Tools will be provided.  Make sure to bring long pants and sturdy boots or rubber boots.  Each volunteer will be given 2 orange SP t-shirts (required to wear at worksite) and a green Calvary Relief t-shirt to wear while traveling.

TOTAL COST: $350 which covers RT airfare, van/car rental, gas, & lodging - to be paid when registering for the trip so airline tickets can be purchased. (NOTE -if airfares go up significantly, cost of trip may go up as well).​
