Asheville, NC
Feb. 2 - 8, 2025
Once again our Calvary Relief team was able to go back to Asheville, NC to minister to the many people still struggling with the aftereffects of Hurricane Helene. This time we served with Calvary Chapel Asheville & teamed up with 3 other Calvary Chapels - CC Philadelphia, CC Houston, and CC Franklin, TN. It was great serving together.
THANK YOU to all of you who donated supplies - since one of our team drove there & CC Asheville has a distribution center, we were able to bring needed supplies. Another member of CCOB organized for his company to ship over a 1000 sheets of 1/2" particle board to CC Asheville free of charge. It's amazing how God provides! Thank you, Lord!

This time we were in western side of Asheville - in areas such as Bat Cave, Pisgah Forest & Mills River. Bat Cave was hit especially hard - the whole mountainside slid down washing away houses, cars, and people down the river. We met with Fire Chief of Bat Cave who described how difficult it was to even get to the station to help the people. Click on this link to see video of him sharing what happened there. During the storm, the rescue team saved this 91-year-old lady by carrying her out of her home in flooding waters. We had a chance to meet her and share about Jesus - God miraculously opened the door to her heart that day and she invited Jesus in, after many years of keeping that door closed. God allowed her to be rescued (saved) during the hurricane to give her time to really be 'saved'. Praise God!
We served in many different ways that week - anywhere from cleaning up debris, mud-outs, tree work, building a tiny house, cleaning out a greenhouse, even shoveling compost & distributing supplies to those in need. Most importantly, listening and praying with people and sharing the hope and love of Christ.
Each time we go, we have no idea what God has in store for us, but we always come away with so many blessings and special memories.
