Deployment to Kauai, Hawaii
Hurricane Lowell
Sept. 28th - Oct. 4th, 2026
Our CCOB Calvary Relief team joined the Calvary Disaster Relief ministry of LaHabra, CA in ministering to those affected by Hurricane Lowell. The hurricane with 100+ mph winds caused massive power outages, downed trees & hundreds of homes damaged. We were thankful to be able to go there to help. Click on picture below to see damage.
In spite of rain almost every day, we worked in mud & rain clearing massive downed trees. Our main focus was Camp Hale Koa used by Calvary Chapel Lihue as a retreat center. Their entire driveway was covered by downed trees & the camp was a mess. It was a privilege to help get it back in shape.
God always works powerfully in these situations - even though we sometimes wonder why we are there, God shows us! One homeowner shared with us that the day the storm hit, he also found out he had stomach cancer. He realized then that he needed God and called out to him - we were there to encourage and pray with him. God shows His hand in so many ways on these trips and we are very thankful to be part of it
