Palisades Fire, CA
April 6th - 12th, 2025

Our Calvary Relief team deployed to CA on April 6th - 12th in response to the Palisades Fire which started Jan. 7th and destroyed thousands of homes. Homeowners fled with just the clothes on their backs describing it as "hell on earth".  Many returned to find nothing but ashes.

We teamed up w/Samaritan's Purse, dressed in Tyvek suits & N95 masks in the hot CA sun digging through the ashes to help find most memorable possessions. With 2-3 stories collapsed into a pile of ashes, it was a miracle to find anything, but we did with God's help.

One lady had hoped to find a special ring her husband made for their 30th anniversary. After searching the area & ready to give up, one team member said a prayer, lifted a small piece of tile, and there it was!!  Homeowner was amazed and rejoiced as he gave it to her and explained how God helped him find it.

Another homeowner just wanted to find the WWII German Luger pistol his grandfather had given him.  This gun had quite a history & meant a lot to him - he wanted to pass it on to his son.  Once found, he was good & felt he could move on.  That day he also accepted Jesus into his life, so he knew it was truly a new beginning for him!

We also found pages of a Bible unburned!  Everything was burned, except for a couple pages, one saying: "I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but through Me". John 14:6   What a miracle!  God's speaking to us in the midst of the ashes.

Each homeowner we met was amazed we would come to help them, each one had a story, each had survived and needed God to move ahead in life.  Just by being there, we were able to give them the hope only found in Jesus Christ.  â€‹

Each time we go, God has special God moments planned for us.  This time it was in the midst of ashes in CA that He used us to share His love and hopefully to bring each of these people to a closer relationship with Him.

There were at least 4 new salvations the week we were there and about 40 since SP got there in January.  Thanks be to God!
