West Monroe, LA
Winter Ice Storm Fern
March 1st - 7th, 2026
Our team spent the week in West Monroe, LA where families were terrified by what sounded like gunfire but was actually trees cracking & crashing down all around them. So much destruction from the winter ice storm! Huge trees were down and on & in houses everywhere.

Met mostly Christians - many elderly & in tears of relief & gratitude thanking us for being there & thankful God had heard their prayers. One elderly couple sat & cried as they shared with us how this tree came through the roof of their living room while they were sitting there. Two other tree limbs went through their kitchen & bathroom ceilings. While we were assessing the damage, we told them “help was coming”, the gentleman looked at us tearfully and said “ it’s already been here, we can breathe now”.

Each time we finished a job, we presented them with a Bible. They were thrilled & thankful! As was the man above who was 98 years old!
Samaritan’s Purse received over 1750 work orders (requests for help) within the first few weeks of being there. Still had over 800 when we left. Best news is, they have had 11 salvations so far.
Lots of hard work, but oh, such a blessing to be there & be used by God to bring His hope to them!
