"Best day of my life!" exclaimed the homeowner after helping him gut his flooded home. When asked why, he told us it was because we were there and "actually liked him". He said he saw "how great God was to bring us together and took something overwhelming and turned it into the best day of my life". Not only that, it had totally changed his life - when he went back to work a couple days later, his fellow workers noticed he was "different" - whole new disposition. And when going back into his home, he had a new peace remembering us there and what we had done for him - what God had done for him! Times like this make it all worthwhile - it was HOT, it was difficult work, and yet the JOY we felt knowing God had brought us there & we were a part of God's plan to help this man was a true blessing.
To God be the glory as He directs and guides us to do His will!
Our Calvary Relief team was in Sarasota, FL from Sept. 2nd through 7th helping those affected by Hurricane Debby and the flooding that followed. We served with Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Rapid Response team who were there a total of 3 weeks. During that time, they had helped 55 families and there were 4 salvations. Praise God! What a privilege to be able to serve in this way. We never know when heading out on a deployment what God has in store for us and then He shows us!
